Red Rose not to Charm

Red light on the rose is considered by researchers as an attraction to invite birds and insects to help the pollination process.

But recently a number of researchers from three universities University of Plymouth, Portsmouth, Inggiris and Curtin University, Australia to find red roses on it functions as a defense of attacks or attack other predators.

Telegraph, Friday (2009/3/13) spread, red roses on the cyanide compound containing such a nature that has a very strong poison. Compound is able to drive away all the animals herbivora attack.

"Red is a warning on the animal-like animal herbivora parakeet birds, kangaroos, or because it contains cyanide compound," said a researcher in Dr Mick Hanley of research articles published in the journal New Phytologist.

Research conducted by three universities was conducted in the western region of Australia and examine as much 50 species roses.
