ATI Will Use Physics Technology In the VGA

Competition physics technology will change significantly because ATI will soon adopt the physics application programming interface (API) in the near future.

Physics is a technology that is easy on the graphics, especially game software developers create software has the effect of nature, for example when two objects collide or how to effect the reflection of light rays in the different objects in the game.

Terry Makedon, known as CatalystMaker confirm the news. He also said that AMD will be doing demos on the technology of the Radeon graphics chip in a presentation session at the Game Developer their Conference, San Francisco 23-27 March 2009.

This makes the use Nvidia PhysX physics technology in artificial Ageia threatened position as holder of the largest market share. The influence of a combination of AMD and Intel can not be ignored by game developers. Intel acquired Havok itself at the end of September 2007, while Nvidia to buy Ageia in February 2008.

Havok technology with use of the property on the Intel-made AMD Radeon VGA, this is the first time in the game using the physics GPU. During this Havok physics API is done by the processor.

Before Intel bought Havok, three years ago ATI was demonstrating the physics-based technology Havok API. Announcements will be made the end of March is the implementation of the technology.
